The Frustration of Putting Up Websites

Does the holiday season get you down? This is the time when one feels the most pressure to make money in order to pay all those holiday bills, and yet the days are the shortest and the time the most limited to actually get it all done.

I have been trying to put up a couple of new websites, something I fully admit I do not do well. I've spent two full days doing all the site editing and whatnot to get up my version of Derrick Van Dyke's "Affiliate Marketing Blueprint" system, watching the video setup instructions repeatedly. As often happens, when I tested my downloaded software all I got was the directory page and not the actual index.html homepage. I know I've run into that before, and it's frustrating because I never seem to remember exactly how to fix it.

I'm anxious to get the package up because it is an awesome, and very, very reasonably priced business in a box for folks. I'm sure I'll get it solved, but I had to put it aside for the moment in order to take care of other pressing matters.

Late last week my good friend, Brad Wozny, put out an email to his list about my e-book, "Understanding Foreclosure." If you're looking for a Clickbank product to promote in the real estate niche, this is one to consider. It's meant for the homeowner who is going into foreclosure. This is an unusual angle, because most of the material in that niche are for investors looking to make a killing in the foreclosure market. Most of the remaining material that is also meant for homeowners tries to also appeal to investors and ends up appealing to no one.

My guide is different because it tries to take the homeowner on a step by step guided tour of the options and which options work in various scenarios. My guide is sensitive to the fact that people who are hurting are not going to want to hear about how much money someone can make off of the misfortune of someone in foreclosure. They just want help and they want the steps to avoiding foreclosure to be clear and concise.

If that's the kind of guide you'd like to promote, then pick it up here:
Understanding Foreclosure.

The Mysteries of Pinging and RSS Feeds

Hi Gang--

The Mystery of Ping

Kenneth Koh from Leads Leap blog just cleared up one of the nagging mysteries I've had lately. A few weeks ago these annoying red highlighted URLs started popping up every time I went to a website. I couldn't figure out what was happening until I read Kenneth's article at:
How to Use Ping.

What he says is that the SEO book plugin for Firefox now gives an indication of which sites are nofollow when you do link backs. There are a mess of them! Of course, you want follow links in order to build back links. Unfortunately for those of us into marketing with our blogs and other web posting services, Wordpress blogs default to nofollow. So... you need to go to your settings file and make sure the follow feature is turned on.

The Mystery of RSS Feeds

I was notified by Getresponse that my signup box at this site has been discontinued because they were getting a message that my link doesn't work. I still have not solved that mystery, but after watching the presentation about RSS feed at the Yaro Starack and Gideon Shalwick Becomeablogger site at least I know how to solve this, and will get it fixed within the next 24 hours. I'm using Feedburner, which is a free tool, and one that gathers all your usage statistics for you no matter what reader sourc your client is using. There is also an email gathering feature in Feedburner and I may start using that instead of trying to link directly to my Getresponse list. That's the part I haven't quite figured out yet...

Anyway, if you want a great set of 10 free videos on getting started in blogging, go to Gideon and Yaro's site. Here's the link: Becomeablogger.com.

Happy blogging!

Here's an under rated traffic tip you can use now

Hi--

Watch this new video to find out the most under
rated traffic tactic ever:

http://www.xfactortraffic.com/v8.o/liznichols

It's like the red-headed stepchild of traffic
getting methods - and even though most people
completely overlook it, Trafficology still ranks
it as the #8 top no-cost traffic getting tactic
of all time.

No other traffic generation technique combines
the ease & effectiveness, at such a low cost,
& yet produces such a high quality of traffic.

Those "in the know" refer to it as "the Holy
Grail of Traffic"

...because once it's set up properly, it creates
a self-perpetuating never ending traffic stream
that goes on and on without you ever having to
lift a finger again.

It even grows exponentially...

In fact, it's so powerful you couldn't stop the
traffic flow even if you wanted to.

This video explains the most highly under rated
tactic:

Best Regards,

Liz

In case you missed it, here are the links to the top tactics so far:

Willie got 1 Million Visitors in 60 Days and You Can Too

Hi --

You've probably heard of legendary marketer, Willie Crawford.
Here's a true story about him:

Willie Crawford grew up on a tobacco farm in
North Carolina, where at an early age he learned
the soul food recipes that he eventually began
selling on the Internet at chitterlings .com

But soon he quickly went from eating pig
intestines (FYI, that's what "chitlins" are) to
dining on the finest filet mignon steaks when his
'Net traffic skyrocketed.

How did he do it?

Willie "Chitlin King" Crawford used just 10
traffic tactics (all no-cost) to get over
1,000,000 targeted visitors to his brand new
home-made 'site in just 60 days.

What were they?

You can get a list of the exact 10 tactics
Willie used emailed to you - plus a no-cost video
training of one of the tactics ...so you can be
using it for yourself within an hour.

The new video is here:

http://www.xfactortraffic.com/v10.o/liznichols

The tactic in this video is ranked as the #10
Most Effective No-Cost 'Net Traffic Tactic of
the Last 10 Years by Trafficology.com (the go-to
source for real traffic results online for the
past decade)

What is the #10 tactic of all time that Willie
Crawford used, and can be setup in about an hour?

It's probably not what you think!

http://www.xfactortraffic.com/v10.o/liznichols

And because I got to this a little late... I'm sending you a second bonus of Xfactor video number 9:
http://www.xfactortraffic.com/v9.o/liznichols

Tactic 9 is all about JV marketing. This is another of the totally free traffic tactics that work that you'll find in the XFactor.

Enjoy!

Best Video Equipment Training and Best Video Social Site

Mike Koenigs of TrafficGeyser just recorded a great commentary on the best video camera and accessory video blog ever. In about 15 minutes he demystifies what you need and what you can live without. Take a look at his blog post here.

The best thing about his report is that he notes a scam that many fall for when they buy the cheapest stuff they can find online. There is an outfit in the Bronx, New York that pulls the classic switch and bait when you order equipment from them. Unless you buy a bunch of cheap accessories that cost more than the full priced camera, they'll find some excuse not to send you your video camera, or they'll just send a stripped down model without the accessories that are supposed to come, or they'll send you equipment that has probably been stolen. Don't fall for it.

He said that that the most reliable source that is used by the pros is B&H Photo Video in New York. You can find them online. They will be less expensive than a big box store, but more than the phony outfits.

A great Video social networking site I've recently discovered is VidEngage. Anyone planning to use video for marketing will want to join because it offers a video bazaar, as well as conferencing and video editing facilities, to support use of video technology in your business. This is the first video social network on the web and it is really cool! It also includes sections for posting a video resume, a video dating service and just creating your own video blogs and journals. It is growing like crazy. You can support your own membership (inexpensive at less than $10 per month) by bringing in other members. It is free to be an affiliate, although there is a small charge to set up a special capture page and get the distributor kit. It is well worth it! I have never seen any opportunity pull like this one.

Step-by-Step Internet Success: Research

Hi,

I just received a request from a new customer for assistance in getting started online. Thought I'd take my loyal blog readers through the same step by step process.

I'll do a step or two per blog post:

1. Do some research first on niche areas that you'd be interested in developing. Let's say, I'd like to start a business in teaching people how to crochet online.

The first thing I'd do is to check a couple of research sources. A few of them are free. Check Amazon.com to see what is available in crocheting material. Check any newsgroup or forums of people interested in crocheting to see what topics they're interested in. Check Clickbank.com to see what digital products are already available online, and perhaps pick up a few of them to read or view to get a feel for the competition. This isn't the place to go into analyzing Clickbank, but basically, if you are seeing two or three products in that niche and they all have a little bit of sales, and there are affiliates getting paid to promote at a level of 50% or better, then you know there is some promise in the market. You can also check EBay to see what is selling for your product niche.

Do some keyword searches in Google and/or Yahoo and see what comes up for top sites in the natural search results (down the main body of the page) and if there are any sites paying for advertising (Google Adwords ads generally along the right hand column in Google.) If there is no advertising, then there is a problem and an indication that at least for that keyword people don't buy stuff.

Then if you still feel your niche is viable, do some serious keyword search. I'll make that the topic of my next post because it is a very special tool that I know you are going to love for all your keyword, and even content, research.

Moving Internet Marketers to Goals

Right now Rich Schefren is on a 30 day marathon to help hundreds of Internet marketers world wide to achieve their goals in business, and, really any part of their lives, through his Guided Profit System (GPS). The process is a unique one, based on the best thinking out there in the arena of goal setting and achieving success, tailored specifically to Internet Marketers. It is truly a whole new way of thinking about your business.

The proof of success in the system for the hundreds being led down the path now is in the making, but many, many have been coached by Schefren in the past and most who have taken the process seriously have made great strides in achieving their business goals. Household names like Mike Filsaime and Frank Kern have benefited from Rich Schefren's knowledge and skill in business building.

Right now the process is closed, but for those IM people who are stuck and can't seem to get started, or can't seem to get beyond an obstacle, this process will help. If and when products come out as a result of this (and I anticipate there will be some when this winds down) grab them. I'll keep you alerted at this blog.

For less than $10 per month you can post video blogs to this community, create a video resume, participate in video dating, or participate in a video bazaar to market your products and business deals. You can also make money by introducing VidEngage to friends and associates. Since this is the very first video social networking site, and it is a very well conceived service, this is likely to be an easy sell.

Give it a try.

Testing LeadEvolution: Revisited

Dr. Mike Woo-Ming and Brian Koz have developed a slick new free traffic generator called LeadEvolution. It combines various free sources to find people who are interested in or asking questions about almost any topic that would come up in one of these lists. More and more sources will be added in the future.

You can write an email message to the people on the list and the message can go out to everyone that you specify. There is even a place to exclude people who indicate they do no want to receive commercial messages.

It is not totally automatic. I spent the better part of a night sifting out messages for a campaign that did not have email in the right format to be picked up automatically. Theoretically, I could have put together a .csv list with some of the others and fed those in manually to another autoresponder system. I also never quite figured out how to search certain files and certain subject areas, so I am in hopes that there will be further training. The training manual is pretty general.

This is an expensive product, and I can only afford to keep it beyond the 14 day trial period if I put it to work finding leads in several areas. Theoretically, it could be used by me to find leads for my freelance writing and editing work, or for setting up blogs for people, two of the things I do on a contract basis. It would not take too many steady contract jobs to pay for itself. It advertises as a way of bringing in dozens of leads in just seconds, and that is true, at least in some areas.

It would appear as if I have used an early version of the software, so there may be many fixes for some of the bugs I found. Apparently there are training materials in it that I haven't seen yet, which would be very helpful. The software is not entirely intuitive, so if you get it you need to take advantage of the training materials.

Understanding Foreclosure at Clickbank

The common wisdom is that the surest way to wealth is to create your own product in a hot niche.

Well, the foreclosure market, unfortunately, is hot. Over 2 million homeowners will probably lose their property this year. Many more are holding on by their fingernails.

Yet, until the last month or so, there were no products at Clickbank specifically designed for the homeowner who needs foreclosure help, and for those who advise homeowners on selling or keeping their homes. Now there are two or three guides, including mine, Understanding Foreclosure. Mine has the unique distinction of being written by someone who has faced foreclosure and has worked through many of the strategies described in the book-- me. I don't presently invest in foreclosures, so I don't have an ulterior motive for presenting this information.

I just want get the latest and best information into the hand of people who desperately need it at an affordable price.

Those of you looking for a niche to market, consider picking up this guide and getting the word out to all the Realtors, Investors and troubled homeowners in your area. You'll make a 60% commission with Understanding Foreclosure. This foreclosure help guide may well save a friend or neighbor's house. It may even save your own house!

Keith Wellman and Gary Ambrose Launch Tuesday

I will be giving you details about a listbuilding product Keith Wellman and Gary Ambrose will launch on Tuesday. Watch this blog tomorrow for those details.

This is a product they had on the market once before for only a week and took it off the market after selling 3000 copies. This time they are having super affiliate marketers rather than the big guns get the first crack on selling it.

I'd appreciate your support. I expect to be announcing some bonuses to go along with this product, so stay tuned.

Another Viral Marketing Tool--Widgeteers

This one is going to be big, folks! It's going to be equivalent to InstantBuzz in its viral marketing power. It's called TheWidgeteers.

The Widgeteers are a group of 30 marketers who have brought in 6000 to this viral social marketing widget and are about to advertise this thing to a massive list of another 400,000 or more. Instant recipe for success: large list meets social marketing advertising widget. Mix in a free option and you've got a winner.

I decided to buy into the premium service because that makes it possible to advertise virally in other members' sites without necessarily putting a member widget on my site. Of course, if you bribe me, I'll be glad to consider running your widget ad on one of my sites if it fits. In fact, if you become a premium member of TheWidgeteers through my site, I'll give priority to running your widget on one of my sites, if the ad fits space-wise and thematically.

Here's the link to TheWidgeteers. Personally, I think it's a no brainer if you have a blog or other site that can be widgetized.

NitroQuattro Review

Nitro Marketing's "Quattro" was launched yesterday.

The product includes a 400 page manual, video demonstrations and a sweet software system that automates many of the functions required to set up a successful Internet Marketing business. Nitro Marketing's 10 year old flagship product, Trafficology, is also included in order to help each participant generate a steady stream of free traffic.

Nitro Marketing has long been one of the most successful and upstanding companies involved in training new Internet marketers, and they have a very good track record of success helping people select profitable niches, build mini-sites and drive traffic to them. Now their products have been updated with all the latest social marketing techniques.

The latest version has been introduced to and tested with the help of marketers who spent $3000 for a hands-on bootcamp on Quattro, so there is now lots of documented evidence of marketers tripling and quadrupling their earnings using Quattro techniques.

Nitro Marketing is not inexpensive, but for a comprehensive system complete with software, it is certainly worth the price. If you are a new marketer, you should not need much beyond this $995 system to be successful online. Although I have not yet used Quattro (I've just downloaded the manual and am starting to work through it), I have been a Trafficology member and have worked with the Nitro mini-site system in the past. They know what they are doing and they are good at teaching. Given what I know about Kevin Wilke and the Nitro team, I recommend this product.

MY BONUS PACKAGE

Those who decide to buy NitroQuattro through my link will receive:

  • One hour consultation on setting up your IM business and selecting your profitable niches.
  • I will provide you with 5 original blog posts and 5 original articles, each of around 500 words using your niche's most profitable key words.
  • I will write a 7-10 page report related to your niche that can be used to attract optins or for any other purpose you may wish to use.
  • I will write you a series of 7 emails that can be added to your autoresponder to encourage optins to buy your product.
This package is valued at $500, and may be claimed by sending an email to me at ednenterprises (at) gmail.com with a copy of your Quattro receipt. I'll verify that you bought through my link before we get started. Also send me your best email address and phone number so I can contact you about your project. It will be completed in time for your product launch, as long as I have a couple of weeks to work on it.

Due to my own projects and time limitations, I can only work with 10 of you. You also want to hurry on over to Quattro now so you can claim the fast start bonuses that Nitro is giving.

Hurry, hurry, run, run, run!

Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge

I've been having one of the most quality experiences with Ed Dale's 30 Day Challenge that I've ever had with an Internet marketing newbie product.

For one thing, it's free.

For another, I'm learning lots that I hadn't already employed in 5 years of online marketing. It takes a lot to impress me, because I've tried em all! There is so much new stuff any marketer is going to find a lot that is first class, never before revealed that it is worth it for someone experienced to go in and follow along.

Among the new features is the beta of Market Samurai, which you can get for the first 40 days free if you go in through the 30 Day Challenge. I had a great time over two or three days catching up on the research for my next several marketing ventures. Dale says the keyword portion of Market Samurai will remain free. The other aspects will require a one time payment after the trial. The paid portion includes a very robust SEO tool that eclipses SEO Book in its automated power. There's a cool content organizer. There's lots more that I haven't explored yet, or that may not be available yet. Looks like a winner of a research tool.

I spent my Sunday setting up Flock, a newer browser which is based on the same platform as Firefox, but is organized so well that you'll be able to save yourself time whether you're a blogger, a picture freak, a social networker, or a news maven. I got the Flock suggestion from the 30 Day Challenge preview series. It's very easy to organize all of your tools on one convenient dashboard, so I highly recommend going to Flock and using it as your default web browser.

I'm still catching up. The group is on about day 9 as of the live session tonight. But the Dashboard and training area of the site is really well designed so you can find what you need to do to get prepared. Someone with a half done project might be able to use that and short-circuit some of the work. Don't ignore the research, though, because it will do an amazing job of pinpointing the profitable keywords in your niche using the Market Samurai tool.

I'll blog on this more later when I've explored a few more tools.

Good Free Stuff

I got side-tracked today because so many marketers have "moved the freeline" that is is easy to spend the whole day just going through video training series and free ebooks. Some of these are stand-alone, and some are the start of a pre-launch. Some come with resale rights, and some not.

Still other very low cost items came on sale today.

It is hard to know where to start. I think there will be several blog posts just to get through all the good stuff.

James Grandstaff is giving away a lot of great video content on creating squeeze pages as part of a pre-launch to his "Squeeze Page Traffic Secrets." The first fr ee video goes over the basics of why any marketer must have a squeeze page for every promotion. The second video goes in to free and low cost traffic generation techniques leading up to a description of how to generate 600 or more visitors per hour. The last video will be released August 1 and will go into advanced techniques. Access this series at http://www.instantmlmsqueezepages.com.

Sylvie Fortin has had it with shady marketers. She has just come out with a free downloadable book blasting the 15 sins that many Internet marketers commit. One of the pet peeves she shares is that all too many of her clients have asked her freelance company to skimp on help desk services by purposely ignoring requests for refund or requests to suspend a membership. The morons who feel this is acceptable customer service feel the customer is too dumb to notice that they are paying for unwanted services and will eventually just give up.

This poor customer service practice is also one of my pet peeves. I could name some big name marketers who have allowed their help desks to drag their feet on refunds, whether purposely or because of incompetence on the part of the service desk people. I can't tell you how much this has made my blood boil on occasion.

Sophie's free download of "Internet Marketing Sins" can be found at http://www.internetmarketingsins.com.

I'll continue my "moving the freeline list" tomorrow.

Keep Posted on Friends and Colleagues With Twitter

Readers are all encouraged to follow me on Twitter. If you do so, I'll more than likely add you to my follow list.

Just today I got the follow notice from marketers I've worked with before, Alan Bechtold and Theo Baskins. I had added both of them just a couple days ago, and now that they are also following me we have the opportunity for quick direct communication using Twitter.

Twitter is for the little stuff we do on a daily basis. It helps folks to get to know you better, and for you to get a unique insight into the lives of some of the people you know as colleagues or mentors. People are so very helpful. If you are having a technical problem and are banging your head against the wall about something that you are doing, then Twitter is out to the people following you. Chances are, someone will come up with an answer. For example, I had not been on Twitter for more than 24 hours when I tried to upload my first YouTube video and found it incredibly slow. At that point I only had 7 people following me, and yet within minutes I had an explanation that helped me to complete the upload successfully. No that's service!

Last evening I joined a new Twitter training series called Twitter Squeeze. For $20 Rick Butts is putting up a series of training videos and other materials to help marketers in Twitter to establish relationships and in the process gradually introducing people who are interested to our products and services. Twitter is NOT primarily a marketing tool. It is a relationship building tool. But it is currently second only to email marketing at getting the attention of people who know you, like you and trust you and generating interest in the products we create and promote. Pitches will be considered spam, especially if anything close to half your posts are there to market products.

Butts' teaching style is funny and informal. He isn't as succinct as he could be, and he kind of wanders around the topic. However, if you pay attention to what he says, you'll get some four and five figure gems, if not more all for your twenty bucks.

As a bonus, Butts includes the download of "Twitter Traffic" by Twitter maven, Tiffany Dow. This will help get you started in this relatively new social medium. Over all, well worth the price at Twitter Squeeze.

Why I am NOT Buying Reese's "Traffic Tactics 2.0"

I am sitting here listening to an expert whose opinion I really value, Andy Jenkins of Stompernet, talk about the pros and cons of John Reese's "Traffic Tactics 2.0." Andy essentially confirms what I have also heard from another marketer whose opinion I value, Todd Gross. He likes the product; it's high quality, but it will be like drinking from a firehose for most new marketers.

The market I review for is the raw recruit, the new Internet Marketer. While I have been around a long time online, I am, myself, a relative newbie when it comes to being able to make consistent money either as an affiliate or with my own products. My learning style requires deliberate, hands on, and drill-down techniques the walk me through creating my own projects. If I get it, I do it repeatedly. If I don't get it without a hell of a lot of time and angst, I figure out how to outsource it.

John Reese's "Traffic Tactics 2.0" is not a tool for most beginners. The exception is, it may work for the individual who is not easily overwhelmed by massive amounts of information and requires fairly little handholding. It appears to also be a good bet for those looking for information on keyword research and its importance, creating content, video marketing and social marketing. Andy Jenkin's opinion is these particular segments of the DVD set are outstanding and drill down to a level that will actually help even the newcomer. There are a few other areas where, if you need the specific information, then go for it.

The product is not expensive as comprehensive courses go. (It's under $400.) If you already have some experience putting mini-sites up and are experimenting with tweaking your traffic sources, then this product is for you. If you buy Reese's course just concentrate on the segments that will help you to squeeze more traffic from your existing sites, or build your second or third site with greater effectiveness.

I recommend that if you decide to get it you do your purchase through Stompernet. They will do a complementary job with their bonuses of filling in the gaps on the topic of SEO and the like. If you wish for a more informal and basic level of products complimentary to Traffic Tactics, then go to Michael Cheney's Trafficstupid site to pick up his bonuses for this product.

What I am personally doing is taking a step back from the "Traffic Tactics 2.0" frenzy and concentrating on a level of training that is a little more step-by-step and hands on. Specifically, right now I'm going through Erik Stafford's Fasterwebmaster Silver and I'm personally getting what I need from that. Later, I'll probably go back to some of the specific courses on traffic, list building, and SEO work to fine-tune the niche marketing sites I'm working on now.

I also have Michael Cheney's latest course in hand, "Automatic Income System VIP," and need to go through that and review it in detail. I know that Cheney has a really good list of traffic sources for students to follow, but I have not yet set up a site using his methods. This new training course is not presently available for new subscribers. However, an earlier course, "Affiliate Millions" is presently available on Clickbank at a fairly modest $97 investment.

What I am illustrating in revealing my own decision process on whether to buy this important IM study course is how to evaluate whether a certain product is the right one at the right time and at the right price for you to buy. Under certain conditions it may well be the best thing since sliced bread. In my case, and for many of my readers, it's just too much with too little comprehensive, step-by-step help right now.

Google Nemesis Great for Clickbank Marketers

Those looking for a new way to dominate the Clickbank marketplace will want to get on board with "Google Nemesis," the latest product from the maker of Day Job Killer and the Google Assassin series.

The clever approach taken here is not only training to help those who are just getting started with Clickbank affiliate product marketing, but also to provide buyers with a nifty software tool that will create review pages so that the creator can compare similar Clickbank products and very quickly create review pages for these products.

Reviews are among the hot website categories that Google scores highly now, so doing a review page on a new or hot product is likely to rank you highly in Google.

The software is a little limiting in that it only keeps track of statistics on clicks and sales for Clickbank products, so information product marketers will love this product, but sellers of other types of products will not find it as useful, even though the review page format could work nicely for a whole range of products.

The marketer who figures out a website template format to use with Linkshare, Commission Junction and other major product advertising networks as well as Clickbank will have a really comprehensive product. However, Google Nemesis is certainly a great start for information marketers.

In addition to being more narrowly focused on Clickbank, the only other problem that I see with the product, is that its popularity may kill its ability to make its users any money. In the first day there were already 4000 purchasers for Google Nemesis. I just checked and it has a gravity of over 600 in Clickbank, and this product has only been around less than a week! Unless there is a cutoff on buyers sometime soon, it will lose its value as an exclusive tool, and the value of review pages as a great Google ranking tool may go down considerably. This is always the problem with templated systems.

On the other hand, each site will be individualized by the choice of products users choose to pair and the individual reviews given. So, each website within each template, should be original and should score well in Google natural rankings from that standpoint.

I have yet to try doing a review page, but that is on my short list of things to do. I'll report how I do in ranking and sales when I get this project accomplished.

I'd give Google Nemesis a score of around 8 out of 10, and this may go higher if I can prove my concern about overuse to be unfounded. Give it a try for yourself.

Faster Webmaster Silver

Erik Stafford has spared no detail in his latest multimedia course on making money on the Internet, his Faster Webmaster Silver program.

This is, quite simply, the most comprehensive guide for new Internet marketers available today, and it is priced to fit the pocketbooks of almost any new marketer. What makes Erik's approach so unique is that he does not try to fit new marketers into one pigeon hole and insist that you go specifically that one route to making your mark on the Net. He recognizes that different folks will have talents and interests that lead to a particular approach to marketing. Sometimes the niche selected will determine the path to marketing success, and the style of website that will work best.

Erik teaches newbies how to set up a business plan that will fit the market niche and the talents and interests of each marketer. His extensive video library, his written material and downloadable forms cover the basics for each strategy whether it's
  • Affiliate marketing for info products, and selling private label rights products (Clickbank)
  • Affiliate marketing using other types of products (Linkshare, Commission Junction)
  • Ebook creation and marketing of your own products
These are all great ways of getting started in online marketing, and each require a slightly different style of website and different mechanisms for listbuilding and followup. Regardless of the approach, Erik covers the methodology with tools that one can go back to time after time to review.

The complete multimedia package is called the "Silver" membership level. Those wishing more hands-on assistance and help through an exclusive forum and regular membership teleconferences will want to join at the "Gold" level. Both are extremely reasonable for the comprehensive, quality product that the user is getting here.

I've known Erik ever since he released his first version of the Faster Webmaster and the 7 Minute Website. He is a gifted web designer and has become a highly successful Internet marketer in a relatively short period of time. I trust Erik so thoroughly that I have hired him to do a website for me to use in helping people on the brink of foreclosure to understand what is going on. I also took his personal coaching class that he conducted last winter with Theo Baskind, an expert on social networking.

Believe me, you are getting the best possible product and the best possible help to start off your online business when you sign up for Erik Stafford's Faster Webmaster Silver or Gold program. This one gets at least a 9.9 on a scale of 10 in my book.

Have a great day, folks.

Declare Your Financial Independence

When I left my 32 year career in libraries I assessed what it is I'm good at and what I'd like to do with the rest of my life. What I'm good at is writing. What I'd like to do for the rest of my life is write.

Somehow, I got away from my creative high ground and my favorite activities. When I looked at possibly doing magazine writing for a living I realized that even the best authors get about $1/word-- maybe $300 or $400 per article. I didn't think I could live on that or make my financial legacy that way, so I turned to other entrepreneurial ventures.

But nothing else works up my passions as much as putting my thoughts into action through writing. I find few other activities as absorbing or interesting as researching a topic and writing about it, or simply writing about what I already know.

Four or five years ago an entrepreneur could get by without strong writing skills. Once could make sales via the telephone or have someone create a nice looking website as a repository for Adsense ads and one could make a decent living with little ongoing writing. Oh, copywriting has always been important, but that requires a particular persuasive formula and not much real writing skill.

The necessity for real writing skills has come into its own with the proliferation of niche marketing, topic oriented blogs, ezines, and a host of social networking sites that provide a forum for every kind of interest under the sun. Those who express themselves effectively in writing are the ones who will emerge as the experts and the ones others will follow.

This was the message of financial independence I was set to deliver yesterday, on Independence Day in the U.S. Unfortunately, I was called away to my mother's retirement facility yesterday afternoon because of a fall my 92 year old mother suffered. We spent the next six hours at the emergency room getting her stitched up. She'll be ok; the broken bones should mend.

It was a jarring reminder that life can completely change in an instant. We need to seize every opportunity while we have our health and all our faculties to do what we are meant to do in life. For me, now and for the rest of my life, that's being at a keyboard writing away.

Find your passion and declare your own financial independence day!

Hire Me to Write Your Blogs, Articles, E-Books

I'm working on my ELance entry to hire myself out to do what I'm doing for myself much of my time-- writing.

I like to write. If I had my druthers I'd either be writing or reading most of my day. I enjoy the whole process of researching a topic, identifying the keywords that will make that article or blog entry do well in Google's organic listings, writing the article and watching it get ranked high on the search engines. I can't believe that I get to do this for a living!

Anyway, you can now hire me to write for you. I'm a bargain right now. You can try me out for a package of 5 blog posts or articles, 300-500 words, for only $100, where you provide me with the theme, some keywords and a website or other source to check out to help me get material. If I do the research prior to writing the articles I will charge an added $20/hour. Either way, it's under the cost of most of the competition. I will also edit your writing, if you'd prefer, for $20/hour. I am a fast and accurate writer and editor. Your satisfaction is guaranteed, so you can't lose.

I still have some things to add to my profile and portfolio on ELance, but you can check me out there. You can contact me through ELance or Email if you're interested in talking to me about a possible assignment.

Advice from Michael Cheney and Joshua Shafran

I looked at two free training videos I recommend to folks.

Michael Cheney did a 13 minute video to show slide of the Internet marketing seminar he attended in Las Vegas. All the major marketers were present and he was able to attend some VIP functions.

The three trends that Michael took away from the conference were: 1. The importance of social marketing right now. Literally millions of people are hungry for the latest training on social marketing right now. This is the new way to create free internet traffic. 2. The importance of creating products prolifically. The gurus never stop creating new stuff. 3. The importance of using experts to fill in the gaps in your own expertise and saving you time. Michael is about to create a product that will help to address all of these trends and secrets to IM success.

The second video was a tutorial by Joshua Shafran called "Don't Shoot the Gurus Yet." Joshua argues that the problem is not the stuff that is created by the so-called gurus. Most of the stuff being created by the tried-and-true IM millionaires are reputable and useful. The problem is, we buy the stuff and then get overwhelmed and don't put it to use.

He suggests that we organize all the e-books, software and hard copy business materials into three lists: business planning and goal-setting materials; marketing materials; technical materials. This will help us focus on what we need first.

The next step is to decide on a business plan and strategy. After that, develop a marketing strategy, and then go to work creating the products, the website and the autoresponder series that will help you to actually make money. Break everything down into definable steps and work on the project a little bit each day. Bit by bit, you'll make progress.

Shafran mentions several products he feels are indispensable. On the marketing side, of course, Clickbank is a great source. He also suggests checking out Hydramedia and Shareasale for products. Some of the technical tools Shafran recommends are Erik Stafford's "The Faster Webmaster," the "MarketingMakeoverGenerator" product, and the AWeber autoresponder system. I anticipate having the Faster Webmaster II available as soon as it comes out in the next week or two. I'll let you know when it comes out. I agree with Shafran that this is the best tool on the market for the web-challenged marketer.

Internet Marketing Success Formula: Sharpen the Saw Daily

I try to learn something new to become a more effective Internet Marketer every day. Stephen Covey calls that "sharpening the saw" in "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People."

Now, I try to limit the time I spend on this activity because, being the perennial student type, I could easily spend all of my time learning and none of my time doing. If this flaw describes you and you are trying to make a living online, then I implore you to reallocate your time and start doing for more hours of the day.

Video is a particularly wonderful tool for "sharpening the saw." I watched three useful short video presentations today in the course of a few minutes today.

The most useful one to me was an interview that Brad Fallon did with video entrepreneur, Mike Stewart for Stompernet on creating a local video presence. Mike featured testimonials from several of his local brick and mortar customers from Georgia who vastly improved sales because of the more personal and personable presence that video gave to their websites. This caused me to add to the top of my "to do" list, to create a video blog for my local business as a fire safety consultant for a local home photoelectric smoke detector and heat detector distributor. I need to generate referrals for this business and having people self-select me through a video squeeze page is an ideal way to do this. Certainly, not many people from Southeast Iowa will search for fire safety or home fire safety or home fire safety tips, or fire safety distributors Iowa City, but the ones who do will find me just as soon as I have my video blog up. You can sign up to receive the Stompernet Going Natural 3.0 video series for free at the Stompernet site.

Another video series was really more for fun than to learn about Internet Marketing. It was BobtheTeacher's third episode of his trip to Poland. I learned several things form this video blog, as well as reading his regular print blog post: IM is all about relationship. Build a personal relationship with your reader and you have a reader for life. Bob is incredibly successful at building that relationship. He's also a great teacher, and he has lots of knowledge to share and quite a reasonable price on Web 2.0 media. I highly recommend his blog for an educational read each and every time: BobtheTeacher blog.

The third was Joel Comm's regular video blog. He is a highly polished video blogger. Of course, he has a full-blown studio and has even produced the world's first IM reality show, "The Next Internet Millionaire." We learned in his current series how he got into Adsense marketing and was just about to give up because of poor sales shortly after the dot com crash when he happened upon a marketer who showed him how to test out the elements of his Adsense websites to optimize. His average sales went up from $20 a day to $80 and eventually even $500 a day. You can pick up a copy of his latest book, the second edition of "Adsense Secrets" on Joel Comm's site.

This has be more determined than ever to get myself a decent digital video camera. The Flip Video Ultra Series Camcorder, 60-Minutes (Black)"> is often recommended as a great starter camera. My little Olympus may be ok for 30 second spots, but not much more. I have begged my daughter to borrow her newer and more sophisticated camera, which will record up to 30 minutes of video. Next week I hope to produce my first video blogs using her camera.

Got to run.

Consistency and Focus: Essential to Entrepreneurs

As I start out my Sunday morning I'm going to initiate a new routine. Usually the drill is, I eat breakfast and then I sit down to at least two hours of mind-numbing emails before I accomplish anything useful.

Then I'll pay bills or put away files I got out the day before.

Then after lunch I get a couple hours of something useful done, and then I go do the errands like going to the bank, the post office and the library late in the afternoon.

I'll spend part of the evening listening to teleconferences, reading, writing, or doing phone calls to line up appointments for my fire safety job before dinner. After dinner I may crash and read or watch TV.

That's my day. When I look at it, there are only two or three productive hours in it one side or the other of the lunch hour, and another couple sometime between 4 and 8 p.m. That's it!

Well, the gurus may be able to cut their real work time to three or four hours a day and make a living. I don't know about you, but I can't!

Here's the newly designed schedule, designed to catch me doing my best work when I am freshest. That would be, right after I've had a good breakfast, so 9 a.m. to about 11:30, and again late afternoon and early evening when I get my second wind.

The new plan is (drum roll, please):

7 a.m.: read for 30 minutes to wake up the mind
7:30 a.m.: walk for 45 minutes (This is in recognition that the brain and the body need the oxygen produced by regular exercise. I am about to use my new diet product EasySlimRX, an African Hoodia based appetite suppessant, and I'll have more energy to burn as I lose weight.)
8:30-8:45: Shower and get dressed
8:45-9:15: Breakfast and newspaper
9:15-11:30: Blog and work on other writing projects; alternatively, highest priority project
11:30-12: Lunch
12-1:30: Emails, check on sales
1:30-3:15: Household chores, paying bills, cleaning, banking, groceries, library and coffee break
3:15-5: Highest priority project; marketing activities
5-6: Calls for fire safety systems in home demos; prepare postcards for safety system marketing; team calls
6-7: Dinner
7-10: Safety system demos, more safety system calling, teleconferences, emails, reading or TV

Now, every entrepreneur's schedule will look different. This one reflects some of the unique things I do, such as demonstrating fire safety equipment to families in the after dinner hours. It also takes advantage of my higher productivity periods for writing projects and other high priority activities, such as marketing.

Instead of frittering two or three hours at a time on email I'm putting it at a time that is normally less productive for me, the time right after lunch when I feel like curling up for a nap half the time. It will be limited to no more than 1 1/2 hours per day, at least during the more productive daytime hours. If I need more time, it can take place in the evening when I'm doing something else, such as listening to a teleconference or watching TV. I'm moving up my errand time to earlier in the afternoon. Normally there is less traffic and shorter lines at the bank, the post office or the grocery store before 3. If I stop for coffee I can get it done before the after school crowds come in. I'll be back home and productive again before the moms have picked up the little ones from the elementary schools on either side of our neighborhood.

This plan leaves time for me to concentrate on my marketing for my other job at a time when folks are normally home, before and after the dinner hour. Some evenings I'll be out giving demos, while others I can either concentrate on my education with teleconferences, team calls and info product reading, or I can occasionally afford to chill out with a good mystery or a mindless TV show.

My new plan also intentionally adds exercise to my day, a very necessary thing given my need to lose about 75 lbs. One of my intentions is to start a blog that will cover the weight loss story. I'll share the URL when I get it set up.

A Profitable Niche and Great Product

The health and wellness niche is growing by leaps and bounds and is among the most profitable Internet marketing niches around. It is already a multi-billion dollar industry and as the Baby Boomer generation gets older it will only get bigger.

There are a lot of great MLMs based around health and wellness products: Freelife, Usana, Mannetech to name a few.

I've formed a company with a few colleagues from around the world to market a brand new weight loss product called EasySlimRX that is going to take the diet market by storm. The product has all natural ingredients that act as an appetite suppressant and an energy booster. Check it out at our website.

I'll be the first to admit that I need to use this product, and I'm about to sign up for my own trial run. I'll set up a weight loss blog and a YouTube site to document my progress and will include the links here when I've got everything set up. This blog and YouTube combo will also be the place to come for related information on health issues that beset people-- women especially-- who are overweight.

In the past, the most effortless way for me to lose weight that would stay off was to take an appetite suppressant. This formula, which is based on pure African Hoodia, looks to be the best balanced formula out there, so I am really excited to try it for myself.

For a healthier YOU in 2008, join me in taking EasyslimRX.

Understanding the Why of Mini-Site Creation

Michael Rasmussen is a highly effective Internet marketer who has developed a great autoresponder service with 99% plus uptime. Now he is moving the "fr ee" line a bit further by offering his mini-site creator video series, something easily worth $200, for no charge. There are many gurus out there who are charging up to $500 for the same information. Check out Mini-Site Profits Exposed here.

So far, I've reviewed the first three videos. He's got an easy style that is enjoyable to listen to and very clear, professional graphics. A couple of the things that are unique about this series-- besides the fact that it is free: He does not start at the VERY beginning of getting a domain name,a hosting account, or an autoreponder. Rather, if you need that stuff he refers you to a site that will cover all that for you. What a relief! I don't have to sit through another explanation of hosting and URLs. He also gives you the WHY behind what you are doing so that you understand why a squeeze page is important, as well as how it is set up.

Michael offers upsells (of course) but he doesn't beat you over the head with them and he tells you exactly what is in them. You do move on quickly to the product at just the level that is right for you, which for most, will be the free product. So, don't hesitate. Get yours here.

Suffering from Information Overload?

Are you feeling overwhelmed? I know I am. I seem to intentionally do it to myself.

As you know if you've been following myself I'm starting the battle of the automatic systems and that means I've got to work on each set-up just about each day. Mind you, I think all of the gurus-cum-trainers that I have paid to get me in the black quickly are all reputable and just will appeal to folks in different ways. We'll see how well each system ultimately works for me.

But in the process of setting up four different systems (Cheney, Wellman, Stafford and VanDyke) I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. Like, can they invent a 48 hour day just for my benefit?

Well, my friend Erik Stafford apparently asked his buddies at JVAlert what each believes the number one cause of Internet marketer failure is. You guessed it: the answer is overload.

Erik has put together a 60 minute teleseminar called "The Law of Action: Overcoming Information Overload" on Thursday, June 12 at 9 p.m. EST. Thought you might like to listen in if you are even close to my present state of overload. Here's the link:

The Law of Action: Overcoming Information Overload

Another Candidate for Automatic System Champ

Among my favorite marketing systems is Derrick VanDyke's "Affiliate Cash Secrets."

Derrick is working on a training system that takes you from the basics of setting up an online business, to details of developing your sales funnel, to creating an affiliate program, and on to more advanced studies.

Each lesson includes a written report and a series of Camtasia videos so that every learning style is covered.

Derrick drills down into the whys and the details of every step without ever boring you or losing you. He is the perfect antidote for overwhelm.

His style is more formal, detailed and polished than Michael Cheney's, who tends to use hastily drawn graphics. Derrick uses professionally prepared graphics throughout. Michael's style is more chatty and relaxed. Both get the job done for the newbie or slow learning marketer (like me)-- just with different styles and emphasis.

Both systems are plug and play. They both offer several private label products, though Derrick's short reports intended to be freebies to entice new optin signups. Cheney's reports are longer and are intended to be sold to new marketers.

Both do a great job of showing you how to set up private label products so they are outfitted with your own pay button and contact information, as well as your disclaimer and address so as to meet Paypal standards.

Derrick does a really good job of showing you how to set up a squeeze page with very little effort, and how to point the landing page, thank you page and every element of the product so it works seemlessly. Derrick's system has a cool split test tool so you can make changes to the squeeze page and see which modifications work the best.

Michael provides a huge amount of material on how and where to advertise so as to build the list quickly for little or no money.

I am looking forward to putting both of these systems head to head to see about the results. Both will appeal to similar folks-- newbie Internet marketers looking for complete solutions. One builds a list with free reports, and shows you how to use them in conjunction with strong-pulling paid Clickbank products as part of the sales funnel. The other concentrates on going after serious buyers with medium-priced information products that are effectively sold by very well-written sales copy.

Since more people will take a chance on free material, my guess is there will be more opt-ins with Derrick's system. But will we make as much money as with Cheney's product? We'll see.

Check out Derrick VanDyke's "Affiliate Cash Secrets" here.

Battle of the Automatic Systems

I've started working with three well known Internet marketers to set up their complete systems for beginning Internet marketers. They are Michael Cheney's Automatic Income system, Keith Wellman's VIP program, and Erik Stafford's I Build Your Business.

The Wellman and Cheney programs were just under $500 each, while Stafford's more hands on program is just under $1500. Cheney also has a VIP program where he gives more hands on support that costs an additional $1500.

Wellman's team has had problems getting up my website, even though they have had almost three weeks to get that done, so not much work has been done on that project. Once it is up, I'll be working with Wellman's Zezweb system to set up an e-book in the real estate area to market.

I've worked the last couple days on Cheney's system. I'm impressed with the quality and the detail of his videos. They are very easy to follow in downloading the 4 private resale right products he has included in this system. Once the sites are set up, he goes into detail on how to set up a blog to use in bringing in traffic to these sites, and all the different traffic pulling methods.

The process that Erik Stafford will use will set up my own products to sell, so this work will be completely original on his part and mine.

It will be interesting to see how well these products do in the marketplace, and how far the instructions go to teaching a new marketer how to make money online "from a standing start" as Michael Cheney says.

I'll keep you posted along the way.

My Internet Marketing Explained Offer

Hello Everyone,

Say, I'm just heading out the door from my house in snowy Iowa to drive to sunny Cape Coral, Florida where I will be at least the next 6 weeks.

Before I go I want to make sure those of you who sign up for Armand Morin's "Internet Marketing Explained" courseware through my affiliate link get a bonus. I will make the offer good through Valentine's Day, so if you have to wait for your next pay check to be able to afford Armand's course, you have a little time. (I hate these offers that say, "get it now or it will disappear by midnight tonight," don't you?)

Here's the link: Armand Morin's Internet Marketing Explained

Here's the deal: After you sign up for Armand's new course send me the info at liz@desperatemarker.com with any payment confirmation information you get from Armand's payment link, plus your full name and email so I can contact you. If you are the first one to join Armand's army under my affiliate link by buying the course you will receive your choice of any two of the following options:

++I will edit your autoresponder email series and landing pages for six months, and or,

++I will ghostwrite up to a 15 page report for you-- provided you give me an outline of the topics you want covered and, if it is a product I am unfamiliar with, you send me enough descriptive information and references so I can understand what it does. If it is a report in an unfamiliar niche area, you may need to provide me with some references as well as an outline. This report will be suitable for you to give away as a free report to incentivize your offers.

Or,
++I will provide up to a 1 hour phone consultation with you on starting or making over your Internet Marketing business. You may call or email me asking follow up questions for up to 6 months as long as calls or emails are limited to no more than once a week.

Everyone else who signs up under my link will have their choice of one of these options. Each of these bonuses is worth easily $500 and could very possibly kick-start your Internet business.

This is, as far as I know, a unique set of bonuses, and together with Armand's great advice, should get you into the black quickly in the Internet Marketing business.

Well, I'm off. I'll be checking my emails at least daily while I'm on the road.

How to Find an Affiliate Program

One of the articles I just wrote for EzineArticles is on the topic of finding an affiliate program.

Check out the article here.

Most people start from the opposite end of the process than they should. An ad attracts them on a traffic site, or a friend recommends a favorite product, and the marketer signs up as a favor to the friend, or out of curiosity about the product being advertised. That's NOT the way to choose an affiliate program.

Products and services that sell very well tend to answer strong wants and needs among a large mass market. So start with doing research at Google, MSN and Yahoo on hot topics. Then move to major affiliate networks such as Clickbank, Paydotcom and Commission Junction, and look for products in the categories you select that are among the top 10 best sellers. There are indicators in these networks to help you determine popularity, and also how saturated the product is with other advertisers. They are terrific sites to use to pick up affiliate products, particularly information products. Check out the sales page, squeeze page, find out what kind of support is available for affiliates in the form of pre-made e-mails, classified ads, and blog posts. See of you can get ahold of the site owner, or his/her help desk. How quickly are your questions answered about the product or the affiliate program?

The commission percentage and total commission earned per sale are important to consider. Digital products generally earn at higher commission rates than hard products because there are no manufacture, storage or shipping costs associated with a digital product. If the commission is under 50%, as yourself if the amount per sale is high enough to be able to make up for a low commission percentage. Will you be able to convert enough traffic to sales to make it worthwhile advertising the product?

In Clickbank I generally look for the top 10 to 20 best sellers within the category with gravity scores of between 60 and 150. A product with a lower gravity score is either untested or may be moving down in popularity. A gravity score of higher than 150 or so has a lot of marketers already selling the product. This is not necessarily a negative, but if you are just starting out, generating sales for a product that has already been out there with a lot of coverage may be a tough sell.

There are websites that review and rate affiliate products and also the ad networks that serve up creatives for various mass market products. Google your prospective product and add "reviews" or "ratings" or "scams" and see what comes up as far as reaction to the product.

One other factor to consider is how the affiliate status is cookied when prospectives come in. Is it a first in or last in cookie? That is, does the affiliate id get tracked for sale purposes from the first person to bring that person in, or from the last? A last in affiliate cookie is most common. This will tend to make big affiliates come in with offers at the last moment during big launches, while the first in method may encourage newer marketers to come in an pitch early and often.

How long does the affiliate cookie stay on the program? Are you dropped if you don't make sales in a certain amount of time? Are you dropped even if you do make sales after a few months or a year? Obviously, the programs that keep you perpetually unless you decide to drop are best for your bottom line.

Finding Training for Internet Marketing

I whipped off two articles to EzineArticles.com the other day. Here's the summary page:

http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Elizabeth_D_Nichols

Finding the Training That's Right for You

Armand Morin points out in one of his Relaunch videos that many of us suffer from a disease called "Outofsequentialism." We can't figure out what we need to know, so we try to learn everything at once, effectively learning nothing. We go through life serendipitously taking courses simply because they seem interesting at the time, or are on the next big thing. We move from big event to big event without ever really identifying the steps that are needed to create a successful business and then strategically finding the training or resources to complete each step in order.

By Armand Morin's observation, we should simply learn what we need to learn when we need to learn it. We then need to complete each step of the process before we begin to worry about the next step.

For Internet Marketing, there's a specific order that needs to be followed to put together an online campaign. Any IM marketer who is weak in any of these areas should find training to deal with the specific need before moving on to the next step, or outsource the work.

Some of the skills that are required:

Research in niches and keywords
Selecting domain names
Selecting and working with hosting services
Creating landing pages, opt-in pages and thank you pages, as well as authority sites,
requiring both technical skills and good copywriting skills
Using FTP to move the websites to the hosting service
Linking the website to an autoresponder and creating follow-up messages
Driving traffic to the website in any one of at least a dozen different ways
Testing and tweaking the website and the copy
Networking with other marketers to create JV relationships
Learning Web 2.0 techniques to marketing
Customer support

There are three IM trainers I particularly recommend at this point. If you are looking primarily for help in setting up an Internet marketing website, then Erik Stafford's TheFasterWebmaster is an inexpensive, step by step online tutorial. Erik is working on a second series to expand upon the web development process. Get the basic course here:

TheFasterWebmaster

If you're looking for a more complete course in creating mini-sites and blogs, then Jim Edwards' Mini-Site Creator is a good choice. This is a DVD series, so you'll be able to pop it into your DVD player and watch it while you're working at your computer. Jim's DVD on creating a blog helped me enormously to get this blog up, as well as my Wordpress blog, Best Basket Gifts. The Wordpress blog, especially, would never have been born without Jim's training DVD. Jim's series is a little more expensive, but it is a hard product that is shipped and you can pull off the shelf and review at any time. Get Mini-Site Creator here:

Mini-Site Creator

Lastly, if you are looking for a total business make-over, then Armand Morin's new training series, Internet Marketing Explained, is the one for you. This is an encyclopedic DVD series Armand has completely revamped to cover all of the most relevant Internet Marketing topics today. You'll get details where you need details on how to create a given part of your campaign, and he'll give practical advice to help you get your business started successfully. Armand Morin is Smoking the House

I just got off the weekly GeneratorProducts affiliates call with Armand Morin and his Affiliate Manager, Stu McLaren. The new Internet Marketing Explained relaunch is smoking the house.

Even though I have not seen the finished product-- it isn't launched until January 18. But the quality that is going to be in this product is obvious from the pre-sale training videos Armand has placed on his blog. You can find out about the Relaunch of IME and then get forwarded to the blog at this link: Internet Marketing Explained.

Armand's free training at the blog site has already created a lot of new buzz words, like, "Outofsequencialism" a disease many of us have. We get all enthusiastic about learning a new topic, like, how to become a successful Internet marketer, then we jump from next big launch to next big launch without ever laying the foundations for a successful Internet business. Yes, I was guilty of outofsequencialism too, and still have to fight every day to keep my focus on completing each step of a campaign in order. Just this one little reminder from Armand was worth the price of admission on the complete training series.

Armand's affiliate program, by the way, is world class. He is one of the only marketers with sophisticated tracking embedded in every affiliate's product ids so that once a prospective customer clicks on your affiliate link for the first time, they are yours as they go through the funnel of products that Armand has to offer. How cool is that?

When I checked my tracking statistics for the IME launch I have 61 people already signed up, and there is still a week to go! Commissions, by the way, on the first level for people who buy IME are $800, and on the second tier they are $200. So, this is one launch you don't want to miss! Further, about 15% of the people who are signing up for notification of the IME launch are actually becoming affiliates. More ka-ching! Here's the link to Armand's affiliate program.

Ok, so you will be able to find training for less, but you won't find anything that is more complete, more definitive, or any easier to follow. And you won't find an affiliate program that takes care of your interests better. All of Armand's products are first class and you can be proud to represent them.

Again, watch the Relaunch video and sign on for information about the launch at:

A Call From Keith Wellman

Friday I got an email and then a follow up call on Saturday from Keith Wellman of ViralFX fame. It seems that he and Gary Ambrose (EmailAces, TripleYourList, and other viral marketing tools) are having a gathering of their clients and newer marketers they view as "most likely to succeed" in Atlanta on January 26th and 27th.

They could easily have charged for this workshop. They plan to share exactly how they have made their millions and they expect to have a number of other well known Internet marketers there to share as well. Similar events by other Internet gurus have set participants back by $5000 to $10,000. This one is free, as a way of helping their clientele to succeed.

Well, I could hardly say no to such an opportunity to learn from some of the best minds in the business. I'll report back to this blog what transpires.

At the risk of seeming mercenary I've added a Paypal donation button to the blog. Donating to help me pay for the programs I buy to review for you and travel expenses to Internet Marketing conferences is, of course, optional. But every penny will help to offset unplanned expenses such as this unexpected opportunity to go to Atlanta to participate in Wellman and Ambrose's seminar.

I promise to give back in great information from the workshop.

In addition, if you sign up on the form at the top of the page, I'll not only keep you regularly updated through this blog, but I'll throw in a freebie of the month. Every month, I'll go into my treasure vault of no cost but totally useful reports, software and other goodies I can find for your edification. Please know that I respect your information and will not share it.

Is Internet Marketing Getting You Down?

Don't despair, help is on the way!

On January 18 famous Internet guru, Armand Morin, relaunches his Internet Marketing Explained training system. It'll cover all the newest methods of making money on the Internet including blogging, using social networking, how to avoid the Google slap, and dozens more topics.

To get a taste for Morin's passion to help new marketers succeed, grab his free report, "An Obvious Truth." I think you'll agree that Morin speaks the plain, gospel truth about how to make money online.

Now, Morin could easily retire. He has made over $45 million in online marketing over the last 14 years, with $15 million of that in just the last year. Instead, he's on a mission to teach new marketers how to be successful by following a simple, tried-and-true method.

In a nutshell, what you need to do to be successful is to take a high quality, rebrandable product, like Morin's own "An Obvious Truth," and advertise it. Create your own website around this free report and collect names, drive people to it via a blog or email to your list, or create an ad and get it out on the net through paid advertising. There are lots of ways to spread the word. Some will work better than others. Test, tweak, then, as the marketers say, "Rinse and Repeat."

Morin says, if you do this cycle of about 16 simple steps about 30 times with hot products and information in your niche, you will succeed. Just rev up traffic until you're getting about 300 sales or downloads a week, tweak to about 1000 a week, and then go on to the next one. You'll see your list grow and your sales along with it until you're making $10,000, $20,000 or even $30,000 per month just by following some easy steps and then repeating.

Will it take some work at first? Yes, of course. (Though, if you have more money than time you can pay someone at ELance or Rentacoder to set up your website and your campaign for you, plus test and tweak. It'll cost you $200 or $300, but once you've tweaked your site to make over that you're in the black.)

Just take a look at this 51 page report at "AnObviousTruth" and you'll know it's all worthwhile.

Have a great day!

New Marketers Start Here

I'm in the process of writing a guide for new marketers (and those marketers who have gotten lost along the way and need to refocus). I've been taking a number of tutorials myself in order to find the best tools for the least cost.

Tonight I went through the video tutorials of Ewen Chia's Autopilotprofits and conclude that it is a great place to start if you are new at marketing online, or just want to refocus on the basics. In 2 hours of watching just the video portion of his product, I had all the information I need to set up a site with Chia's sales page, download site and recommended classified ads. This $27 product also includes resale rights, so that once you buy the product, you can market it and keep 100% of all the sales profit that comes in. You can take a look at:

http://viralurl.com/emailfree111/autopilotprofits

The video tutorials start with how to find a product that is in demand by a ravenously hungry market. Chia suggests that it is better to find a large niche, even if there are a ton of other people in that marketplace then to try to generate buzz around a tiny niche that has little sales potential.

By generating "long tail keywords" you can get a piece of the action with terms that don't have a lot of competition. (Read Chia's guide and watch the videos to find out more about long tail keywords.)

Since the focus is on selling information products, the guide particularly goes into depth on finding profitable products at Clickbank. There is not much concentration in this particular guide on other types of affiliate products, but you can certainly take what is said here and apply it to other types of affiliate products.

There are at least a couple of videos on how to generate traffic both short term and long term. Some of these methods include, paying for advertising through Google and other search engines, creating traffic through blogs and forum postings, using some of the better free traffic exchanges, creating and About Me page at EBay and selling information products through this medium, using Craigslist for advertising, creating a Squidoo lens, and then doing more long term traffic strategies such as writing articles, exchanging links, and adding RSS feed to your sites.

While none of these topics are described at great length, the guide serves as a great introduction and checklist to getting to profit quickly in the online world through affiliate product marketing and is highly recommended as a first step product for new marketers.
